It is time for the 2024 Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards – so why should you enter?
We are delighted to be celebrating the third year of the Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards, and following a fantastic array of entries last year (which you can see here), we’re on the hunt again for the industry’s best work in support of a net zero economy. These awards are open to work from all parts of our industry – including entries from advertisers, agencies, media owners and tech companies.
The Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards are a partnership between Campaign and the Advertising Association, and they aim to identify the industry’s very best examples of work in support of a net zero economy. In the words of Ad Net Zero Chair, Sebastian Munden: “We want to see how our industry is helping to make the big brands better, and the better brands bigger.”
The judges are looking for evidence of sustainable advertising and business practices and how the principles of the Ad Net Zero action plan are being implemented. This ranges from the way companies are demonstrating their understanding of the sustainability problem they seek to solve, to changing techniques to produce and distribute work in more sustainable ways, through to evaluating the impact of their work through a combination of sustainability improvements, creative excellence and commercial successes. All with the principle of full transparency at the core of the work, and a clear awareness of how the businesses they work for, and represent, are on a credible path to net zero.
The CANZ Top Tips Webinar 2024
This year, in partnership with Campaign, we’re pleased to bring you the much-anticipated CANZ Awards Top Tips Webinar, that features judges and our Chair; all experts in the field of advertising and sustainability. The panel includes Sebastian Munden (Ad Net Zero and WRAP), Kate Waters (ITV), Isabelle Quevilly (Meta), Felicity McLean FRSA (WPP) and Campaign UK’s Gideon Spanier, sharing their experience of the awards and more interestingly their top tips and tricks on what the judges are looking for this year and what makes a best in class, award-winning entry.

So why enter this year? Here’s a reminder of the 2023 winners…
We would like to share with you all the reasons why we think you should enter the awards, but before we do that, here are some great reminders of last year’s winner case studies:
Winner of 2023 Ad Net Zero Awards Grand Prix: ITV, eBay and Love Island
Project: ITV’s approach to Net Zero transformation
The campaign saw eBay become the show’s first “pre-loved” fashion partner, successfully shifting behaviour to become more sustainable, without focusing on sustainability as its central point – which is a key point to bear in mind. eBay saw a huge increase in independent retailers, repositioning their marketplace as a space for upcycling preloved goods.
Kate Waters championed the “Show don’t tell” nature of the campaign that was able to indirectly promote a sustainable way of living.

Winner of 2023 Ad Net Zero Awards UK Grand Prix international: Makro with Grey Colombia Project: Life extending stickers
This entry looked at tackling challenges around food waste and proved to be extremely successful for reshaping perceptions of food life cycles and reducing food waste. With over 40% of fruit and vegetables being wasted this offered a simple solution of putting colour swatch stickers on fruit and vegetables, showing colour progression for the ripening process and offering recipes for the different stages.
